25/February/2011 With more than two hundred thirty audiences, Habataki memorial concert was successfully held at Tsuda hall in Sendagaya on 21 February. We are very much grateful for all guests. Our sincere thanks are due to support given by Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry, Japanese Red Cross Society, Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA), and all of friendly supporters. This time venue for concert was changed to Tsuda hall in Sendagaya. We are fully prepared to let more people know it. As for this year's concert, we've got a good reputation with even more warm from audiences. In particular thrilling poem Tomoko Sakoda had from one bereaved family of HIV victims, which made a great impact on all participants there. Poem was read with improvisatorial piano. We were deeply moved by Ikebe's accompaniment piano and Sakota's poem reading like repeated strong wave. We mourned 658 hemophiliacs who died from HIV-tainted blood scandal. With ending the sayings "We were here with the memory of loved one", it brought tears to our eyes. From the second time, Mr. Shinichiro Ikebe has been in charge of the director of Habataki memorial concert. The song "Yasuragi No Tsubasa" (Comfort wings) composed by Mr.Shinichiro Ikebe, which have been performed every time since first appearance in 2005. This song spread not only in Japan but also all over the world. This evidence agrees well with our aim, through the help of music, to pass thoughts of HIV victims and tragedy to the next generations. Much more still remains to be done to let more people know and come to fantastic performance and marvelous Habataki memorial concert. Mr. Ikebe said "It's hard to put down the concert once we've started it seven times. The act of quitting requires great courage". We should pursue for the reason why we decided to continue the 8th concert. We would like to create 8th Habataki memorial concert together. We look forward to continuing progress in the new year.
